I'm so excited!
I've just found out that the FSF not only took the humble suggestion of slogan I'd volunteered for the FSF40 celebrations, but put it in an improved version on the FSF40 celebratory T-shirt! Wheeeeee!
See, I had suggested:
4 decades
4 freedoms
4 all users
that used the equal sound of four and for to make it about FSF's "four decades [of fighting] for [the four] freedoms for all users".
But even while celebrating its 40th anniversary, the FSF's focus is not on itself, but on the Four esSential Freedoms for users to control their own computing, so the improved version that went into the T-shirt is even stronger:
4 freedoms
4 decades
4 all users
"Four freedoms, for decades, for all users". Beautiful! Awesome!
Or is it "for freedoms, for decades, for all users"? That works as well, and it's just as great!
Kudos to whoever added this great twist.
May the FSF and the 4 freedoms stay strong and on the users' side for many more decades, and for many more users who are yet to come into existence!
And, you know what?, you can help them get there if you wish!
One way to help is to buy the T-shirt and other fundraising items available up to July 28th at the GNU Press shop run by the FSF.
Another is to help the FSF defy dystopia and reach its mid-year fundraising goal of 200 new associate members. Associate membership dues enable the FSF to remain independent, avoiding capture by misaligned interests. If you can, you may also sponsor associate memberships, or donate to support the mission.
Yet another way to help is by volunteering. The FSF can always use helping hands who wish to advance the free software cause. Get in touch, and let's get busier defying dystopia and fighting even more strongly for freedoms, for many more decades, for all users.
So blong,
